Antique 1920's Hawkes Sterling Silver & Etched Glass Bowl or Basket with Handle
Presented is a wonderful etched glass and sterling silver basket produced by Hawkes of New York in the 1920's. The etching around the bowl features a cabin in the pines with a happy faced sun and bright morning star beaming from above in a clear sky. The bowl or basket has a sterling silver rim and  pivoting handle. The cartouche at the apex of the handle has never been monogrammed.
Hawkes signed the bowl on the inside of the  silver handle, "Hawkes Sterling", and an identifying number "37".
The condition of the piece is excellent, with no cracks or chips. There is normal surface wear on the underside, as you can see in the photos. There is also one very small (6 mm) dent in the bowl's rim, and what appears to be 3, minute (< 3 mm) assay test marks.
Dimensions: The bowl's diameter is 6 inches. It's 2 3/4 inches high not including the handle. With the handle raised the height is 6 1/4 inches.
